PSU Texture Extraction/Patch

If someone want to extract the textures of PSU Aoi in order to make a PSO skin, it's possible with TexMod. It's a tool which can extract the textures of any direct x 9 game.

To work with PSU, you will need to use a PSU client without Gameguard - PSU V1 - ]PSU V2 (else Gameguard will block TexMod) and to rename "gameguard.des" to another name like "_gameguard.des."

To extract a texture :
- With TexMod, in the "Logging Mode" tab, choose the no gameguard PSU executable.

- Set the differents parameters
- Click on Run, it will launch the game. Choose offline game.
- In game, go to the area of your choice and use + or - to choose a texture and Enter to extract it.

It works fine, I extracted some textures of the HUD, character (here Ethan) and in Parum:




TexMod can patch too the textures of a game so it's possible to modify a PSU texture and to use it in PSU Aoi offline. There is a good tutorial here for Tomb Raider to learn how to do but it's the same process for PSU.

Another tool [WORM] BustR found : 3D Ripper DX. This tool can extract frames, shaders and textures of PSU.

then the question comes, are the texture to much detailed or not? (gw textures are >_< )

For the moment, the max size I found for the textures is 256 x 256 (area texture in Parum). Not like gw textures and its size of 2048 x 2048

Terra, is the offline no gameguard file virus free? I have no virus scanner at the moment.

I would like too
But it's not possible, the mission max attack G are online only and the software can only work with a client without gameguard (so offline)

Ranger, I can't seem to get it to work, I'm probably just being retarded though..
I'm in game and see the left corner which says all that "press + and - to select a texture"
I press + and - though I see no change, it just sticks with no texture selected...

works just fine for me just had to put it into windowed mode.

also have you tried teh numlock keys? I had to use those ones and not the standard ones
